Barium & Chemicals, Inc was incorporated in 1937 by co-founders, Albert and Anna Pavlik and operated twenty miles east of Cleveland, Ohio in Willoughby, OH. Its main product line was Barium Peroxide a precursor for the subsequent manufacture of Hydrogen Peroxide. In l960, Barium & Chemicals, Inc. moved the operations to Steubenville, Ohio after purchasing the The Steubenville Pottery Facility, a 180,000 square foot plant on forty acres of land adjacent to the Ohio River near Steubenville, OH.

Barium & Chemicals has remained a family owned business concentrating on production of a complete line of technical and purified grades of Barium, Strontium, Calcium, Potassium, Antimony, and Lead Compounds, as well as some Metallurgical specialty chemicals. As a leading supplier of these compounds, Barium & Chemicals, Inc. is one of the few remaining independent family-owned chemical manufacturers which have survived over seventy years in business.
